Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Folio application ("the App") developed and operated by Filtercode LTD ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Licence

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use the App on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial purposes. This licence is subject to these Terms and the Apple Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement (EULA). In the event of a conflict between these Terms and Apple's EULA, Apple's EULA shall prevail to the extent of the conflict.

Age Requirement

The App is intended for users aged 16 and over. By using the App, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old. If you are under 16, you may not use the App.

Subscriptions & Purchases

Folio is available in the following tiers:

All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. Prices shown are in GBP; prices in other currencies are set by Apple and may vary by region.

Free trials

Pro Monthly and Pro Annual subscriptions include a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial period. At the end of the trial, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.

Auto-renewal

Monthly and annual subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless you cancel. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions.

Cancellation

When you cancel a subscription, you retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period. No refunds are provided for the unused portion of any subscription period. Refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policy.

Your Content

All documents, subscriptions, financial data, and other content you create or import in Folio ("Your Content") belongs to you. We do not access, view, process, or store Your Content on our servers — we do not operate servers. Your Content is stored locally on your device and, if you enable iCloud sync, in your personal iCloud account.

You are solely responsible for maintaining backups of Your Content. We recommend enabling iCloud sync for automatic backup across your Apple devices.

Email Scanning

The App offers an optional email scanning feature that connects to your email provider (Gmail, Outlook, or IMAP) to discover subscriptions and billing information. By enabling this feature, you authorise Folio to access your emails in read-only mode for the sole purpose of extracting subscription-related metadata. Email content is processed on your device and is not stored, retained, or transmitted to any server. You can disconnect your email provider at any time from within the App.

Disclaimer of Warranty

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee the accuracy of AI-powered document extraction, metadata analysis, or spending calculations. Information extracted by the App should always be verified against your original documents. The App is not a substitute for professional financial, tax, or legal advice.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by the laws of England and Wales:

Termination

This licence is effective until terminated. Your rights under this licence will terminate automatically if you fail to comply with any of these Terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the App and delete all copies from your devices.

You may terminate this licence at any time by deleting the App from all your devices. Termination does not affect any rights or obligations that arose before the termination date, including any active subscription period.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Apple's Licensed Application EULA, constitute the entire agreement between you and Filtercode LTD regarding the App. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will include a note in the App's update release notes. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you should stop using the App.

Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer resident in the United Kingdom, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
